Ben Nicholson is a writer, programmer, and filmmaker living and working in London.

Over the past couple of years, Ben has been involved in pre-selection for Open City Documentary Festival (2017), Sheffield Doc/Fest (2018, 2019) and the London Short Film Festival (2020). As an independent programmer he has programmed the UK premiere of Blake Williams’ PROTOTYPE (in collaboration with LOST_FUTURES), two sold-out London screenings of Soda_Jerk’s TERROR NULLIUS, and partnered with Edge of Frame for the UK premiere of Stephen Broomer’s Potamkin (all as ALT/KINO). Ben’s primary interests lie in non-fiction and artists’ moving image. His own creative work often engages with notions of personal and collective memory, physical and imagined landscapes, and the natural world.
